Nondimensional parameter
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007574
A dimensionless quantity that characterizes a physical system or process, often arising from the nondimensionalization of governing equations. These parameters allow for the comparison of different systems and the identification of dominant physical mechanisms. The Richardson number is a nondimensional parameter used to assess atmospheric stability and turbulence.
