Nondispersive infrared spectrometry
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007575
A technique used to measure the concentration of specific gases by detecting their absorption of infrared radiation at particular wavelengths. It operates by passing infrared light through a sample cell and comparing the absorbed energy to a reference. This method is commonly employed for monitoring atmospheric carbon dioxide and methane concentrations.
