Inviscid fluid
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006635
A theoretical fluid that has no viscosity, meaning it offers no resistance to shear stress or flow. While no real fluid is truly inviscid, this idealized concept simplifies fluid dynamics equations and is often used as an approximation in atmospheric and oceanic modeling for large-scale flows where viscous forces are negligible. The Euler equations describe the motion of an inviscid fluid.
