Point vortex
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008002
A theoretical construct representing a vortex with infinite vorticity concentrated at a single point in a two-dimensional fluid flow. This idealized model simplifies complex fluid dynamics by assuming all circulation occurs at a singularity. It is often used to analyze the interactions and movements of multiple vortices in an incompressible, inviscid fluid.
