Kaus

A warm, damp southeasterly wind that blows over the Persian Gulf, primarily during the winter months. It develops when a low-pressure system moves over the Arabian Peninsula, drawing moist air from the gulf. The kaus is associated with cloudy skies, increased humidity, and sometimes precipitation, contrasting with the dry, northwesterly shamal wind that prevails during the summer.
