Krakatoa winds

Atmospheric waves, specifically gravity waves and infrasound, generated by the massive 1883 eruption of the Krakatoa volcano. These waves propagated globally and were detected by barographs around the world, circling the Earth multiple times. The event provided early evidence of global atmospheric wave propagation and its measurement.
