Lifting condensation level zone
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006939
The altitude at which a parcel of unsaturated air, when lifted adiabatically, becomes saturated and condensation begins to form a cloud. At this level, the air parcel's temperature cools to its dew point temperature. The height of the lifting condensation level is a key indicator for cloud base formation.
