Magnetospheric convection
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007091
The large-scale circulation of plasma within Earth's magnetosphere, driven by the interaction of the solar wind with the geomagnetic field. This process involves the transport of charged particles and energy from the dayside to the nightside of the magnetosphere. It is a key mechanism for coupling solar wind energy into the near-Earth space environment.
