Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007103
The process of transcribing observed meteorological data onto a weather map using standardized symbols and numerical codes. Historically, this was done manually by meteorologists, but it is now largely automated by computer systems for real-time analysis.
