Megatherm
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007194
A plant type adapted to thrive in conditions of continuous high temperature and abundant moisture, characteristic of tropical rainforest climates. Megathermal climates are defined as those where the average temperature of the coldest month is 18°C (64.4°F) or higher. This classification is part of bioclimatic schemes that relate plant life to climatic conditions, contrasting with mesotherms, microtherms, and hekistotherms which are adapted to progressively colder environments.
