Mesophyte

A plant that is adapted to grow in environments with moderate moisture conditions, neither extremely wet nor extremely dry. Most common agricultural crops and deciduous trees in temperate regions are mesophytes. These plants typically have well-developed root systems and stomata that can regulate water loss effectively.
