Multiplexor
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007460
An electronic device that selects one of several input signals and forwards it to a single output line, allowing multiple data sources to share a single resource. In meteorological data acquisition systems, a multiplexor enables a single analog-to-digital converter or communication channel to process signals from an array of different sensors, such as thermometers, hygrometers, and anemometers. This process, called multiplexing, cycles through the sensors to create a composite data stream.
