Neutrosphere

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010642

The atmospheric layer extending from the Earth's surface up to the base of the ionosphere, characterized by a composition of electrically neutral atoms and molecules. This region encompasses the troposphere, stratosphere, and mesosphere, where the concentration of ions and free electrons is too low to significantly affect radio wave propagation. The neutrosphere contains over 99.9% of the atmosphere's total mass.
