Oil slick

A layer of petroleum or other oily substance floating on the surface of water, often resulting from spills or discharges. These slicks can spread rapidly, covering large areas and impacting marine ecosystems. Their presence can alter the air-sea interface, affecting gas exchange and wave damping.
