Film crust

A thin, hardened layer that forms on the surface of soil, often due to the impact of raindrops or drying processes. This crust can reduce water infiltration into the soil, increasing surface runoff and erosion. It is a common feature in arid and semi-arid regions, impacting local hydrology and vegetation.
