Operative temperature
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007700
A simplified measure of human thermal comfort that combines the effects of air temperature, mean radiant temperature, and air speed into a single value. It represents the uniform temperature of an imaginary black enclosure where a person would experience the same heat loss through both convection and radiation as in the actual, non-uniform environment. This metric is calculated using a weighted average of the air temperature and the mean radiant temperature.
