Black-bulb thermometer

A thermometer with its bulb painted black and often enclosed in a vacuum tube, designed to measure radiant heat. It absorbs solar radiation more effectively than a standard thermometer, providing an indication of the combined effect of air temperature and solar intensity. This instrument is used to assess thermal comfort and heat stress.
