Ice-bulb temperature

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006441

The temperature indicated by a thermometer whose bulb is covered with a thin layer of ice, exposed to a moving air stream. This measurement is analogous to the wet-bulb temperature but specifically applies to conditions where the air temperature is below freezing. It is used in psychrometry to determine atmospheric humidity in cold environments.
