Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007800
A rare halo phenomenon appearing as a bright, white spot on the parhelic circle, located at an angular distance of 120 degrees from the sun. It forms due to the reflection and refraction of sunlight through hexagonal ice crystals in the atmosphere. This optical effect is part of the complex family of atmospheric halos.
