Parhelic circle

A white, horizontal circle of light that passes through the sun and runs parallel to the horizon. This atmospheric optical phenomenon is caused by the reflection of sunlight off vertically oriented ice crystal faces in the atmosphere. It can extend completely around the sky, though it is often incomplete.
