Antarctic Circle

The parallel of latitude approximately 66.5 degrees South of the Equator, marking the northernmost extent where the sun remains continuously above or below the horizon for at least 24 hours at the solstices. South of this line, there is at least one day of 24-hour daylight and one day of 24-hour darkness each year. It defines the boundary of the Antarctic region.
