Frigid zone

One of the two polar regions of the Earth, located between the Arctic or Antarctic Circle and the respective pole. These zones are characterized by extremely cold temperatures, long periods of darkness or daylight, and the presence of permanent ice and snow. The Frigid zones receive the least direct solar radiation throughout the year.
