Photosynthetically active radiation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007929
The segment of the electromagnetic spectrum that plants and other autotrophs use for photosynthesis, abbreviated as PAR. This range of solar radiation encompasses wavelengths from approximately 400 to 700 nanometers, corresponding to visible light. Photosynthetically active radiation is quantified as photosynthetic photon flux density, with units of micromoles per square meter per second.
