Power series

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008093

An infinite series of the form Σ a_n(x-c)^n, where a_n represents the coefficients, x is the variable, and c is a constant. In atmospheric modeling and theoretical meteorology, power series are used to approximate functions or to solve differential equations that describe atmospheric processes. Taylor series are a specific type of power series commonly employed in these applications.
