Probability paper
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008159
A type of graph paper with a specially scaled axis designed so that a cumulative distribution function for a specific probability distribution will plot as a straight line. By plotting observed data points on this paper, one can visually assess how well the data fits the theoretical distribution, such as a normal or log-normal distribution. The straightness of the plotted line provides a graphical test of the goodness of fit for the chosen probability model.
