Radiation model
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008300
A computational representation of how electromagnetic radiation interacts with the atmosphere and Earth's surface. These models simulate the absorption, scattering, and emission of solar and terrestrial radiation by atmospheric gases, aerosols, and clouds. They are integrated into numerical weather prediction and climate models to accurately calculate atmospheric heating and cooling rates.
