Spectral transform model
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009111
A type of numerical weather prediction model that uses spectral methods for horizontal representation of atmospheric fields and finite differences for vertical representation. It efficiently computes nonlinear terms by transforming between spectral space and grid point space. These models are widely used for global weather forecasting due to their accuracy and computational efficiency.
