Spectral similarity
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009110
The degree to which the spectral characteristics, such as absorption or emission patterns, of two different substances or phenomena resemble each other. This concept is used in remote sensing to identify and classify atmospheric constituents or surface features based on their unique spectral signatures. High spectral similarity can indicate the presence of the same material or similar physical processes.
