Spectroscope

An optical instrument used to separate light into its component wavelengths, allowing for visual observation of the spectrum. While spectrographs record the spectrum, a spectroscope is primarily for direct viewing. In atmospheric studies, it can be used to identify elements or compounds based on their unique spectral signatures.
