Spectral radiance
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009109
The radiant power emitted, reflected, transmitted, or received by a surface per unit projected area per unit solid angle per unit wavelength or frequency interval. It describes the intensity of radiation originating from a specific direction and within a narrow spectral band. Satellite sensors measure spectral radiance to infer properties of the Earth's atmosphere and surface.
