Rotating multicylinder
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008614
An instrument used to measure the liquid water content of supercooled clouds, particularly in icing research. It consists of several cylinders of different diameters that rotate at a constant speed, collecting ice as they pass through the cloud. The amount of ice accreted on each cylinder is then analyzed to determine the cloud's liquid water content and droplet size distribution.
