Rotating Reynolds number
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008615
A dimensionless quantity that characterizes the ratio of inertial forces to viscous forces in a rotating fluid system. It is used to predict the onset of turbulence and the behavior of fluid flow under rotational influences. This number is particularly relevant in studies of planetary atmospheres and oceanic currents.
