Rule-based system

A type of artificial intelligence system that uses a set of 'if-then' statements, or rules, to derive conclusions or make decisions based on input data. In meteorology, these systems can be applied to tasks such as weather forecasting, severe weather detection, or classification of atmospheric phenomena. They operate by matching observed conditions to predefined rules to infer outcomes.
