SBL strength
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008670
A measure of the stability or intensity of the Stable Boundary Layer, often quantified by the magnitude of the temperature inversion or the vertical gradient of potential temperature within the layer. A stronger SBL indicates greater resistance to vertical mixing and turbulence. This strength influences the dispersion of atmospheric pollutants and the formation of fog.
