Spongy ice

A type of ice formation characterized by a porous, often soft and compressible texture, resulting from the inclusion of air bubbles or unfrozen water within its structure. It forms under specific freezing conditions, such as rapid freezing of slush or snow. This ice has a lower density and strength compared to solid, clear ice.
