A set of reference atmospheric conditions used for calibrating instruments, comparing data, and standardizing aircraft performance calculations. The International Standard Atmosphere (ISA) model defines the variation of temperature, pressure, and density with altitude under idealized, globally averaged conditions. This model specifies a sea-level temperature of 15°C, a pressure of 1013.25 hPa, and a constant temperature lapse rate of -6.5°C per kilometer up to the tropopause at 11 kilometers.
