Stereoscopic image
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009255
A pair of two-dimensional images that, when viewed together, create a perception of three-dimensional depth. The images are captured from two slightly different perspectives, mimicking the binocular vision of human eyes. In meteorology, this technique is applied to imagery from satellites or ground-based cameras to determine the height and structure of clouds, plumes, and other atmospheric phenomena, providing quantitative data for weather forecasting and research.
