Stochastic particle modeling
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009264
A computational method that simulates the movement and evolution of individual particles within a fluid or atmospheric system, incorporating random processes to represent unresolved small-scale phenomena. This approach is used to model atmospheric dispersion of pollutants, cloud microphysics, and turbulent mixing. Each particle's trajectory is influenced by both deterministic forces and random fluctuations.
