Describing a process or system that involves random variables or elements, where outcomes are not entirely predictable but can be characterized by probability distributions. In atmospheric science, many phenomena, such as turbulence or cloud formation, exhibit stochastic behavior. Stochastic models are used to represent these inherent uncertainties.
