Autoregressive process

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003728

A type of stochastic process where the current value of a variable is linearly dependent on its own previous values, plus a stochastic error term. This statistical model is frequently used in meteorology to forecast time series data, such as temperature or precipitation, based on their historical patterns. The order of the process indicates how many past values are used.
