Autoregressive series

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003729

A type of time series model where the current value of a variable is expressed as a linear function of its own past values, plus a random error term. This statistical technique is used in meteorology to model and forecast atmospheric variables that exhibit persistence. An AR(1) model uses only the immediately preceding value.
