Taylor polynomial
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009506
A polynomial approximation of a function around a specific point, derived from the function's derivatives at that point. In atmospheric science, Taylor polynomials are used to approximate complex atmospheric processes or equations, simplifying them for analysis or numerical modeling. The accuracy of the approximation increases with the degree of the polynomial.
