Polynomial
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008052
An algebraic expression consisting of variables and coefficients, involving only the operations of addition, subtraction, and multiplication, with non-negative integer exponents of the variables. These expressions are used in atmospheric science for curve fitting, data interpolation, and representing atmospheric profiles. A common example is a quadratic equation, which is a polynomial of degree two.
