The process of automatically measuring and transmitting data from remote or inaccessible sources to a receiving station for monitoring and analysis. In atmospheric science, telemetry is used to relay data from weather balloons, satellites, and remote sensing platforms back to ground stations. This data includes parameters such as temperature, pressure, humidity, and wind speed, often transmitted via radio frequencies.
