Unlimited ceiling

An atmospheric condition where the lowest cloud layer is either absent or is at an altitude greater than a specified reporting limit, typically 20,000 feet (6,000 meters) above ground level. This indicates excellent visibility and no restrictions to vertical flight due to clouds. It is reported in aviation weather observations as 'CLR' (clear) or 'SKC' (sky clear) when no clouds are present, or as 'UNL' for unlimited.
