Anticlinal

Relating to an anticline, which is an upward-arching fold in rock layers where the oldest strata are in the core. Anticlinal structures are often associated with hydrocarbon traps because they can accumulate oil and gas beneath an impermeable cap rock. The term describes the geometry and orientation of such folds.
