Clean out
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000695
The process of removing sand, scale, fill, or other unwanted debris from the bottom of a wellbore to restore production or prepare for subsequent operations. This is accomplished by circulating fluids, sometimes with specialized downhole tools like motors and mills, to break up and transport the solids to the surface. A common method involves running coiled tubing to the bottom of the well to jet fluid and lift the debris.
