Coring fluid
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000859
A specialized drilling fluid formulated to maximize the quality and minimize the contamination of a rock core sample during coring operations. The fluid is designed to be non-reactive with the formation rock and its native fluids, preventing alteration of properties like wettability and saturation. Its composition is carefully selected to have low solids content and excellent filtration control, with filtrate that is easily distinguished from the formation's original fluids through chemical tracers.
