Coreflooding
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000858
A laboratory procedure in which fluids are injected through a cylindrical rock sample, or core, to simulate reservoir fluid dynamics. These experiments are conducted under controlled conditions of temperature and pressure to evaluate fluid-rock interactions and the effectiveness of injection schemes. Coreflooding provides data for relative permeability, displacement efficiency, and the performance of enhanced oil recovery agents before field-scale application.
