Native-state core

A core sample that has been preserved as closely as possible to its original reservoir conditions, including its fluid saturations and wettability. This type of core is carefully handled and stored to prevent alteration of its properties. Native-state cores are used for specialized laboratory analyses, such as relative permeability and capillary pressure measurements.
